Arctic Monkeys New Album!

Just discovered that the Arctic Monkeys have announced the title, release date and tracklisting of their new album. As an avid follower of them since their songs were free to download on their website, I am very excited about this! The album will be called 'Suck It And See' and will be released in the UK on the 6th June 2011. The tracklisting is as follows:

1.   She’s Thunderstorms
2.   Black Treacle
3.   Brick by Brick
4.   The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala
5.   Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair
6.   Library Pictures
7.   All My Own Stunts
8.   Reckless Serenade
9.   Piledriver Waltz
10. Love is a Laserquest
11. Suck It and See
12. That’s Where You’re Wrong

Will it live up to Whatever People Say I Am That's What I'm Not, Favourite Worst Nightmare and Humbug? We'll just have to wait and see...(or maybe suck it and see?)

Arcade Fire

Just bought tickets for the Arcade Fire concert in Hyde Park on the 30th June!! They will be playing alongside Mumford & Sons, my new faves The Vaccines, and Beruit. I am really excited to hear Arcade Fire live, as I love all their albums-The Suburbs is one of the few albums I can listen to without skipping a single track! I just hope they have enough stage time to play all my favourites...

Warpaint

The music that these four girls are making is so good that a new genre has been coined just for them - 'swoon-pop'. Their debut album is full of soaring melodies and vocals, each song as richly textured as a chocolate cake - this is the musical equivalent of eating a whole one by yourself. Whoever said girls should stay out of rock and roll would have deprived the world of this beautiful album. Try listening to it from beginning to end - breathtaking

The Vaccines

I can't wait for The Vaccines' debut album, which is due out this month and entitled 'What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?' (anyone who has heard their amazing single 'Post Break Up Sex' may recognise this!). The Vaccines are one of 2011 indie's shining lights - and for good reason! 'Post Break Up Sex' is a short, sweet blast of pure, sunshiny rock, which, despite the slightly sinister undertone of the lyrics, which could jar with the music, is perfect for that quick pick-me-up listen

Sleigh Bells

If you haven't bought Sleigh Bells album yet, get it to the top of your to-do list as the solution of shinily grungy riffs, dramatic vocalising and x and y chromosomes is, well, the solution to all of the pap that has come out of 2010/11. If their sound was an object, it would be plutonium ~ luminescent but deadly
